Love them or hate them, the Fantasy Premier League chips are here to stay so we might as well embrace them!
ANALYSIS OF THE TRIPLE CAPTAIN:
Close to 50% of the managers in the top 50 used their triple captian in Double Gameweek 27 on Sergio Aguero. Though this move wasn't as successful as it was predicted to be, he managed to return only 9 points in that gameweek. But as they say patience is one key to sucess as those who used it on Harry Kane and Alexis Sanchez in Double Gameweek 36 or 37 will be more smug about life! Others decided to roll the dice earlier on a single Gameweeker.
WILDCARD IN GAMEWEEK 36?
Those who went with the more popular, Wildcard in 36 and Bench Boost in 37 were celebrating, in many cases as most managers were well over 150 points. This year the strategy worked, next year it may not, so we must remember this when the Double Gameweeks roll out in the next season.
IS ALL OUT ATTACK A WORTH CHIP?
The All Out Attack chip is used by many to solve a bench headache however many, including us, were envious of saving it for the last gameweek as goals were guaranteed in the last Gameweek of the season, so maybe it is good to save it for then.
WHICH IS THE RIGHT TIME TO USE BENCH BOOST?
Although many used the Bench Boost with success in the Double Gameweek 37 those who chose to use the Triple Captain chip in Double Gameweek 37 got the biggest points hauls. Sanchez and Kane returned 51 and 93 points respectively if Triple captained, these two big hauls have showed us that the Triple Captain chip may be the best option in a Double Gameweek. Obviously there is no guarantee that a player will give us such a high number of points when the double game weeks come around next year, but at such a make or break time in mini leagues the TC chip represents a riskier but equally potentially more rewarding option. Although the safer and more common option is the Bench Boost - this season showed us fortune favors the brave.
OUR THOUGHTS ON THE CHIPS:
Although many people will disagree, We think Chips improve the game and make it a bit more exciting. We have all learnt our lessons for next year, but still FPL is very hard to predict the upcoming season due to all the extra factors like transfer of players, new tactics introduced by managers, new managerial appointments, form of the players, injuries and so on.
