Promoted teams are often a source of FPL points at a cheap price, take Tom Heaton last years highest scoring keeper or Charlie Austin a few years back for QPR. Hopefully Brighton can continue this trend and provide us with solid FPL options at a low price.
It is hard to look beyond last years Championship player of the year - Anthony Knockaert. He scored 15 times and set up a further 8 for his team mates. His price of 6.0 million could represent exceptional value if he continues his amazing form! However a pre season injury which saw him leave the ground on crutches has tempered early interest - he is only owned by 3.8% of players.
With all of Brighton's players owned by less than 9% of FPL players there are plenty of differentionals to choose from! My pick is the keeper - Matt Ryan, priced at 4.5 million. Only owned by 1.3% players Ryan represents a solid option if the Brighton defence can keep up their impressive clean sheet record - 21 last year. They face Leicester, West Brom, Watford, Newcastle, Bournemouth during GWs 2-6 - not bad fixtures!
In a year where premium strikers are in abundance all FPL players are craving for budget striker that will do a Josh King or Riyad Mahrez! Although not in that bracket yet my budget pick - Tomer Hemed has the potentional to be a hit. Scorer of 11 league goals last year and priced at only £5.0 million if he can nail down regular starts he can flourish! Glenn Murray's age may help Hemed's bid for game time!
Brighton's defence is probably its strongest aspect. They kept a league high of 21 clean sheets last season in the championship and can offer FPL mangers 4.5 million defenders to be part of a defensive rotation. Players like Lewis Dunk will flourish if they can keep their defensive form up! Matt Ryan in goal will be vital and offers the safety net of save points if the defences are breached!
Up top the prospects are; Glenn Murray if he can stay fit, he shared the golden boot with another promoted striker Dwight Gayle last season, with 23 goals. Knockaert is the obvious choice and certainly has the potential to out preform his low 6.0 million price tag!
To conclude, with Brighton players so lowly owned and low in price - anyone that hits form will be a vital asset if we jump on the bandwagon at the right time!
