After managing to escape an intense relegation battle Paul Clement has steered Swansea City back to the safety zone and in this article we will be mainly focusing on the players to watch out from The Swans
Undoubtedly the star man is Gylfi Sigurdsson. After being involved in more than 50% of Swansea's goals last season he is indeed the best player they currently have. He scored a total of 9 goals and provided 13 assists and scored a total of 181 points last season. Priced at 8.5m this season and to be frank the price is quite high compared to his last 3 season's prices which was around 6.5-7.5m. But looking at his abilities and also he takes the set pieces for The Swans he is indeed a player to watchout. Also rumours are suggesting that he may leave the club which may create a hurdle considering him in our FPL plans.
Priceed at 5.5m Tammy Abraham is the differential pick from the Swans. Last season he played for the Championship side Bristol City where in 48 overall appearences he scored 26 times and provided 4 assists. At 5.5m he is an ideal differential forward option considering his abilities to pass and finish chances. His partnership with Fernando Llornte and Gylfi Sigurdsson is one to watchout this season.
Priced at 4.5m Tom Carroll is a budget friendly option from the Swansea side. He scored a goal and assisted twice last season and scored a total of 52 points in 18 appearences. Carroll is a good choice as he tends to blend with swanseas's attcking performances as seen during last season and and so may well score some goals or provide assissts this season. As he is priced at 4.5m he can occupy the 5th midfield slot and may be a good option for managers opting a 3-4-3 formation this season.
Scoring 4 goals and keeping 7 clean-sheets in 27 appearences Alfie Mawson is the best Swansea defender out there. Priced at 5.0m which is genuinely good considering his ability to attack and score goals as well defend, but looking at their fixtures it's better to choose a Swansea defender after their game against Manchester United in gameweek 2. So if you are planning to play a 3 defence setup then you could go to Federico Fernandez or Kyle Naughton who are priced 4.5m respectively, but if you want an attacking defender then get Mawson.
After an excellent first season for Swansea scoring 15 goals and providing an assist and scoring 146 points Fernando Llorente is the best attacker available in the swansea's squad. Priced at 7.5m he is indeed a striker to watchout and to consider in our plans provided his patnership with Sigurdsson continues this season. Currently injured with a broken arm we can all hope that Llorente recovers in time for the first game against Southampton and can rediscover his form back.
So in conclusion the Swansea team will provide us good options to consider after their fixture in gameweek 2. If Sigurdsson does'nt leave the club then we will have various attacking options available from The Swans.
