This is the second in our series of articles previewing the Premier League fixtures for 2017/18. The first article discussed teams to avoid, this article will cover the teams to consider.
After a tricky opener against Spurs, Newcastle have 5 strong fixtures where they will expect to pick up points. Trips to both fellow promoted teams and Swansea coupled with 2 home ties against West Ham and Stoke make the likes of Gayle great budget options.
Manchester United could hardly have wished for a better start. West Ham and Leicester visit Old Trafford and together with away trips at Stoke and Swansea make picking the right United assets look key to the early part of our FPL season.
Arsenal begin with ties against Leicester and Stoke in GW1 and 2 with Bournemouth in GW4. This makes players like Alexis Sanchez and Rob Holding potential gold dust. Southampton have a great start with the hosting of Swansea and Watford either side of trips to The London Stadium and Huddersfield, Yoshida and Stephens double – up anyone?!
Those who love a West Brom defensive asset will be very pleased with their opening 6. Bournemouth, Stoke and West Ham all visit the Hawthorns. Finally, Burnley start with 3 solid home fixtures; West Brom, Palace and new comers Huddersfield all visit Turf Moor. This really heightens the appeal of Tom Heaton, perhaps in rotation with Ben Foster.
